Taste of the Greenmarket
Some
of New York's best chefs, including Dan Barber (Blue Hill), Peter
Hoffman (Savoy), Marc Meyer (Cookshop), Adam Weisell (Il Buco), and
many others, will gather to celebrate harvest season at the
Greenmarket. The evening will include a tasting of Greenmarket-inspired
fare prepared by the chefs, presentations honoring leaders in the
Greenmarket and local foods movement, and a silent auction. The event
will take place at Studio 450 (450 West 31st Street) on Wednesday,
October 29th from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A private tasting for VIP
guests will take place at 6:00 p.m. Tickets through Brown Paper Tickets: $150/general admission, $300/VIP.

Brewtopia Beer Festival
New York's longest running beer festival, "Brewtopia: the Great World Beer Festival" returns this year to Pier 92 (52nd Street at 12th Avenue). Over 100 breweries will be showcasing their beers on tap. Attendees receive a souvenir glass which can be used to obtain a 2-ounce sample from each booth. The festival will have three sessions, one at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31st and two on Saturday, November 1st at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Please note this event is exclusive to adults 21+. Tickets: $59/person.
Dia De Los Muertos
Join Chef Julian Meridan (Tolache) at The James Beard House (167 West 12th Street) for a Mexican Day of the Dead Celebration. The menu will include Spicy Lobster Tacos, Zucchini Flower Quesadillas, Warm King Crab Tamales, a special Dia de los Muertos Bread Pudding, and more. The celebration will take place on Saturday, November 1st at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $125/JBF members, $165/general public. Reservations: 212.627.2308.
Eating Their Words
Eating Their Words returns with its latest performance, "The Tailor Event" taking stage at Tailor (525 Broome Street) in SoHo. The events blend the talents of a veteran chef with three established playwrights, creating original, unique dining and theater experiences. The plays are written explicitly for the evening, inspiring the chef to design a menu which will complement and enhance the play. The theme for the evening will be "Defying Perception." Eating Their Words will take place on Monday, November 3rd at 7:00 p.m. Tickets: $250/premium seating, $285/VIP seating.
Tales from the Campaign Trail
The next installment of Savoy's (70 Prince Street) Fall Dinner Series will feature New York Times Magazine Political Reporter Matt Bai. Just one night before the election, Bai, who is also the author of, "The Argument: Inside the Battle to Remake Democratic Politics," will share stories from the campaign trail and his political insight over an intimate autumnal dinner. The event will take place on Monday, November 3rd at 6:30 p.m. $110/person. Reservations are required: 212.219.8570.
Red, White, and Blue Presidential Taste-Off
Murray's Cheese and Astor Center can help you pass the time on election night as they present a "Red, White, and Blue Presidential Taste-Off." Participants will be presented with six red and white wines and six blue state cheese favorites, then asked to cast their votes on which pairings work best together. Live election results will also be shown on a projection screen throughout the evening. The event will take place in Astor Center's Gallery (399 Lafayette Street) on Tuesday, November 4th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets: $50/person.

New York Time's Style Magazine presents its 5th Annual "Taste of T." Food and design junkies will have the opportunity to interact with prominent food personalities, explore luxurious showrooms featuring the latest in home design, and enjoy food tastings prepared by celebrity chefs and cookbook authors. The event will take place on Thursday, November 6th at Architects & Designers Building (150 East 58th Street) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets: $75/person.
