Recipe Redux

eggadventure GOOD has posted a slideshow of the best responses to its call for submissions to help redesign the standard recipe.

The finalists range from "Choose Your Own Egg Adventure" (right), by food photographers Alice and Jared Zhao, to an IKEA-inspired instruction manual for making pho.

The winning design will be selected on April 4 by judges Wylie Dufresne, chef/owner of wd~50, and Design Observer's Jessica Helfand.

This sure is a fun idea to revamp boring old recipes, while looking at the egg diagram it definitely made me want to try out an “adventure” for my own. These new creative ways to make something simple and boring, fun and interesting is a great idea. Not just for a contest but maybe for kids too. Make it an adventure so to speak or something along those lines to make nutritious foods more entertaining and fun. Because in all seriousness most kids only want to eat Trix cereal because the commercial has a silly rabbit and the logo tells the children that this cereal is made only for you and no one else is allowed to eat it. If people start making other fun activities out of food preparation I bet children would want those foods also.

I think that good writing is to be able to give the reader a lot of help. It can lead you to learn and know. It was really good.
