Wow this is sad news indeed, the more so because she was so young! Her cookbook gave me the desire to cook, experiment, discover.
Really sad that the obit is so half-assed and ill-informed, not to mention error-ridden. She had a huge impact on the food world and deserved better. And she was tough; I believe she did that around-the-world cookbook after the aneurysm that was omitted from the obit. Jacques Pepin should be afraid, very afraid . . . This is the paper, after all, that couldn't get Walter Cronkite's life story straight.
