The other thing you can do with fresh herbs is hand dry them. Just wash, dry with a paper towel, and tie the stems with thread or kitchen string. Hang upside-down from underneath your cabinets, or off of a cabinet knob, etc.

And then there's always the free choice of putting the herbs stem down in a glass of water covered by a plastic bag with a rubber band belting it to the glass.
