Postscript: Puglia in Pictures

Pugliacomposite2

On the left, puntarella piled up outside a produce shop in Vernole. On the right, olives at the market in Trani and handmade semolina pasta at Masseria Barbera in the Murgia hills.

I've sorted through all of my photos of Puglia to put together a slideshow of the best, mostly taken in and around the towns of Bisceglie, Lecce, and Trani:

I haven't been to Italy in years; just looking at those olives and pasta make my mouth water....

Please tell me - why has everyone gone Puglia crazy all of a sudden?

Excellent photos, by the way.

I have been to Apulia last year and think the region is highly underrated. It's a beautiful place and the food is delicious. Thanks for providing these wonderful photos.

Thanks all.

Scott, we were all there for several days for a symposium presented by Oldways, a nonprofit, to discuss health, nutrition, and diet -- hence the resulting Pugliapalooza.

Ciao Josh! Great photos of a really interesting region of Italy. May I ask what camera/lenses did you use? Grazie!

Tamsen: Thanks for the compliment. Most were taken with a Nikon D70 with the kit lens (18-70mm). A few were also taken with a canon sd700.

What's up with this puglia crazyness?
