Gastronomique Online
First published in France in 1938, Larousse Gastronomique, the ultimate culinary encyclopedia, has been transformed into an online reference tool through Amazon's "search inside the book" feature. From abaisse to zuppa inglese, all of the entries in the tome's 1,360 pages are accessible through a simple keyword search (though you wont be able to print them out).

Interestingly, I just discovered that the links to abaisse and zuppa inglese have expired. In addition to the restrictions on printing, this must be another stopgap measure against reproducing and sharing the pages of books.
