Scandal at James Beard Foundation

Metro: The New York Times reported yesterday that a major financial scandal is brewing at The James Beard Foundation, which has not filed tax returns in two years and is under investigation by the New York state attorney general's charities bureau. Beard Foundation president Leonard F. Pickell Jr., is expected to step down shortly, according to the Times. At eGullet, chef/writer Anthony Bourdain suggests, "I hope they shut the place down and turn it into a methadone clinic."
